TE21 for restoration, automatic with power steering. The engine runs well and starts readily, good oil pressure. The car has not been used for about

15 years, so brakes and tyres will need replacing as will things like fanbelt, hoses and other perishables. The car has an almost new stainless exhaust, so that will not need attention. The bodywork will need attention, although it looks fairly presentable as it is. The front end is fibreglass and actually looks very good. The interior will clean up nicely and has the benefit of Reutter reclining seats. A good basis for a running restoration.

The range of new parts is growing all the time, for the three litre models I can now supply almost everything for brakes and suspension. I have engine gaskets and water castings as well as windscreens and rubber mouldings for the Park Ward cars. Service parts such as filters, hoses and ignition components are also covered. Parts may be ordered direct from our website (click on parts shop) or by telephone or e-mail message.

In my relentless search for parts cars I have been offered a fascinating selection ranging from a crashed TD which ended up upside down after a high speed motorway incident to a fire damaged TD which starred in Midsomer Murders a few years ago, as well as the more predictable selection of terminally corroded cars. I try and keep everything which may be useful now or in the future and salvage what I can. There is a morbid fascination in seeing just how dreadful a car can become and I will post pictures of the more interesting finds to keep you amused!

Prices for the saloons are at last beginning to reflect the quality and rarity of these cars, but are still way short of the cost of a major rebuild. This is especially so for the TA14, where a good and usable example can still be found for less than £8,000. The chassis and running gear is very robust and so lends itself to the specials market. Whilst some efforts are frankly hideous, I am pleased to see a growing improvement in the general standard of design and wokmanship, and in many cases this is the salvation of many a car which would have no other future. I have a growing customer base in this category and I am in an excellent position to help with the supply of components for such projects. The three litre chassis offers a greater challenge to work with, but some very pleasing specials have been created. In the case of the Park Ward bodied cars The value differential between the saloons and the dropheads means that many people are tempted to think along the lines of converting their car. Be warned, it is not as simple as it first appears, and if it is not done absolutely right, to original specification, the expected increase in value will not happen. We intend to stock all the necessary components made as closely as we can to original design to provide a complete conversion kit. This could well make some otherwise unviable restoration projects become attractive cars again

TA21 Tickford Project

TA21 Tickford Project

This car needs total (and I mean total) restoration. The chassis is generally OK but will need a bit of work around the rear spring hanger. The wings are realisticaaly repairable, but the rear inner wings, boot floor, inner sills and other inner panels are in need of replacement. The timber frame lokks reasonable as far as one can tell without dismantling. Being aluminium, the outer panelwork is generally sound.

The engine is siezed, the brakes will need completely replacing as will the tyres of course.I would expect the front suspension to need a full rebuild as well. The dashboard is crumbling with woodworm, but good secondhand ones are available. The interior will need a retrim.

The one thing in this car’s favour is that it is totally untouched and as found. No dismantling or messing around, everything is present and correct, just needing restoration.

The car has a current V5 and the original registration number goes with it
